Grade 1
Our first grade children are busy learning in all content areas. Much time is dedicated to further developing reading and writing skills and gaining a deep understanding of mathematical principles. Students also learn about families, communities, map skills, timelines, basic computer skills, shadows, plants and animals, and special Catholic prayers.
- The students attend Physical Education, Art, Library, and Music classes weekly.
Grade 2
Second grade students experience a very special year, preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. They also continue to learn to apply correct punctuation, read with accuracy and fluency, identify fractions, use map skills, and describe parts of government and different landforms.
- The students attend Physical Education, Art, Library, and Music classes weekly.
- Grade 2 students can focus for longer periods of time.
- Students practice taking responsibility for their own actions.
