Our Open House on Sunday, January 29th kicks off Catholic Schools Week. All Saints Catholic School has some wonderful events planned for the week. Catholic Schools Week is designed to celebrate what makes a Catholic education both distinctive and exceptional. The goal is to set aside time from the regular routines and honor in a unique way the special ways in which a Catholic education contributes to building a community in the school, local parishes, city, nation and world. The theme for Catholic Schools Week, chosen by National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service.” We, at All Saints Catholic School, have some great activites planned for the week and some wonderful service projects as well.
The schedule for the week is as follows:
Sunday, January 29th-Open House
Monday, January 30th-10:00 am Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Academy (the students will wear their “All Saints are Marching In” t-shirts. Our service project for the day is Mitten Monday. Please bring in donations of mittens, hats and scarves for Walkin’ in my Shoes and First Step.
Tuesday, January 31st-Clash day (students are to wear clothing that clashes) Our service project for the day is Toothbrush/Toothpaste Tuesday. Please bring in donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste for the Shalom Center. We will also be having an Academic Bowl-Teachers vs. Students 1:15-2:15 at both north and south campus.
Wednesday, February 1st-Coffee with the Dr. Lichter 8:00-8:30 and Open House 8:30-10:00 am. Our service project is Water Wednesday. We are collecting water for the INNS program. It is Teacher Switch Day! Teachers and Principals will be switching classrooms from 2:00-3:00.
Thursday, February 2nd-Sports Team Casual day (students are to wear either ASCS spiritwear or their favorite sports team. Thinking of You Thursday. Students will be writing valentine cards to the many volunteers that serve All Saints Catholic School and to the residents at Brookside Manor and St. Joesph Nursing Home. In the morning and afternoon we hold a Head-to-Head comptetion (students vs teachers) from 10:00-11:00 at the north campus and from 12:45-1:45 at the south campus.
Friday, February 3rd-Comfy/Cozy Casual Day (students are to wear comfy sweats, flannel pants or other cozy clothes). We will be having Movie and Popcorn parties with our buddies. Our service project is La Familia Friday and we will be collecting school supplies for La Familia Sagrada.
